Who are we?

Kahua Veterinary Rehabilitation and Acupuncture (KVRA) is the the only mobile, veterinarian-run, rehabilitation and acupuncture service on Oahu for both small and large animals.

Veterinary rehabilitation is an increasingly popular segment of veterinary medicine focused on improving quality of life and/or performance for animals suffering from illness or injury. Veterinary rehabilitation often provides alternative or integrative therapies in a multi-modal approach to treat your pet’s condition. Whether it’s your geriatric canine couch potato or your high performance equine athlete, Kahua Vet Rehab & Acupuncture will work with you to find a treatment option that meets your needs and goals for your pet. Rehabilitation is especially helpful in reducing pain and improving recovery after surgery. For small animal patients, Kahua Vet Rehab & Acupuncture does require a referral from your regular veterinarian before starting treatment to ensure that rehabilitation is appropriate for your pet’s condition. Referral is strongly recommended for equine patients if they have suffered an injury. Acupuncture and laser therapy can also be performed to improve overall wellness and potentially improve function of your performance horses. If you are not sure if your pet will benefit from rehabilitation therapies, click the ‘Equine Services’ or ‘Small Animal Services’ button below to learn more.

If you are a new client and your veterinarian has referred you for treatment, please complete our new client paperwork and submit our online form. To get in touch with us about the services offered or if you have any general questions about our practice, please use the contact form located on the “Contact” page.
