Therapeutic Exercise

If you’ve ever needed to see a physical therapist after surgery or injury, you know one of the most important keys to a successful recovery is exercise/muscle strengthening. The same is true for animals. Not all injuries can be corrected by just increasing the number of walks per day. Exercises focused on improving core strength and individual limb strength are the hallmarks of KVRA’s exercise programs. These exercises are also beneficial to overweight pets that may not initially be able to go for long walks or runs. Exercise programs are individually customized for your pet’s specific needs and owner’s abilities. Some equipment may be recommended but is usually not required to come up with a suitable exercise program.

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy refers to movements designed to improve joint mobility and release tension. These therapies include passive range of motion, joint manipulation, stretching, and massage. Pet owners can be taught how to perform several of these techniques at home. Dr. Shelley will teach you how to safely perform these techniques to minimize discomfort.
